Housing description:
Housing sustains force applied on the strip and support the cassettes and rolls.
The housing will be made of steel, or cast iron, closed top type.
Cross beam will reinforce the housing to minimize the deflection under load of the bottom load cassettes.
One rail is fitted on the operator side for guiding the roll change rig.
Extention unit description
Five extension units are mounted in the machine, three at the top, two at the bottom:
Bottom extension units:
The bottom units are fixed. Each unit includes:
-One three Hi roll cassteed including onr work roll, 2 back-up rolls. Back-up rolls are made of a series of special roller bearing units. Specific care is made for protection of the bearings which are pressurized by air to prevent the entry of scale into the bearings.
-Each roll assembly is fited on the base plate equipped with wheels. This makes a cassette which can easily be changed.
-Each cassette is fitted in position by clamping cylinders fitted on one beam mounted in the housing. |
